Young People Frome

Young People Frome's, Bert Jansch Studio Music Development Programme, funded by Coldplay, in a unique partnership with Raves From The Grave, Cheese and Grain and the Bert Jansch StudioBert.

Two incredible groups of Chritchill School pupils, had two one hour sessions on the morning of Wednesday 9th July. The first group of 9 pupils created an incredible sound scape, Milo the sound engineer said it's one of the best soundscapes he has ever heard and is very close to the sounds of Pinkfloyd! The second group of 12 pupils, created a sound scape, starting with a short vocal phrase, "We are the voices of the" this then took you into an incredibly atmospheric place, taking you on a journey of sound adventures

Well done to everyone who participated in this creative experience, a big thank you to Young People Frome Volunteer Keira (who filmed the session for the school) and Oliver, who volunteered as studio assistant to Milo, the Bert Jansch studio engineer, who worked so hard to prep the studio and capture the creative music process and produce the track. Thanks also to the wonderful staff team of teachers and teaching assistants that supported the sessions, who also were as equally creative as their pupils

What a fantastic day of creativity for all, writing and recording, from scratch, two wonderful track's, all within 2hrs!
